Watch Episode 24 Now!

How Do You React to the Word “No”?

If you have ever been in a situation where you were trying to close a deal but the other party kept saying no, then you know it can be frustrating and discouraging. What if I told you that “no” doesn’t always mean the end of the negotiation however? In fact, it is often just the start of one.

It’s true. That first “no” you get can be the opening you need to begin a new opportunity to get engaged in the discussion. It can be a chance to re-evaluate your approach and come up with a new solution. It can be a chance to learn more about the other party’s needs and find a way to meet them. It can open the door to creativity and to ask for more information. Information is the key to success in negotiating a deal. He who has the knowledge, has the power.

The key is to never give up. Persistence is one of the most important traits to have in any negotiation. If you believe in what you’re offering and you know that it’s the right solution for the person you are offering it to, then don’t let a few “no’s” stop you. Keep pushing forward and find a way to make it work. Don\t do them the disservice of walking away without helping them out. If what you are offering is going to make things better for them, you owe it to them to make sure they understand that, and see your vision.

But it’s not just about persistence. It’s also about understanding the power of the word “no”. When someone says “no” in a negotiation, it’s not always a definitive answer. In point of fact, it rarely is. It can be a negotiating tactic, or even more likely, just an automatic response. It can be a way to test your commitment or it can be a way to get you to stop asking because they are starting to give in and are getting ready to say yes. It can even be a way to see if you’re willing to compromise or give them a better deal. Any any one of these cases, the doorway is actually being opened for you; not closed.

There are times when you shouldn’t give up on closing the deal just because someone says “no”.

Here are three examples of when not to pack it in:

#1 – When the “no” is a reflex or knee-jerk response: Sometimes people say “no” without giving it much thought or consideration.

My kid, as an example asks me for extra, last minute stuff while we are out shopping for groceries all of the time. “Dad, can I get this too.” Usually it is some dumb little thing or some huge “sugar bomb” snack, but not always. At any rate, my initial reaction is almost always “No” because I’m calculating costs in my head to make sure the register doesn’t try to charge me more than what it should.

There are companies out there that do this on purpose and think we’re all too dumb to notice. And yes, I have called them out on it on many occasions. That’s not the point though.

The point here is that my “No” isn’t really based on much conviction. It is just an automatic response because all of us have been pre-conditioned by life to react this way. In the majority of cases, all he has to do is ask me 1 or 2 more times and I change my tune from no to “yes”. I am not alone there.

#2 – Sometimes the deal can be right, but the timing seems off: It’s possible that the timing of the deal appears that it isn’t right for your prospect person.

They may see your vision for how great the offer is, and how it can help them, but sometimes don’t have the cash on hand to get it or perhaps need approval from a higher authority. In this case, it may be worth revisiting the conversation at a later time when the circumstances have changed, so just set an appointment to pick it back up later. A different technique, and one I tend to favor, it to use that moment to drill down on their pain point some more, and ask them what their biggest issue this would solve for them would be. When you have your answer, quickly restructure the deal for them to just take care of that one key issue at a lower price point that they can handle. That will often get you the “yes” you are looking for, and once you have them, and they “see the benefit for themselves” you can upgrade them to the full scope of the original deal later.

#3 – When the prospect is looking for a deal: If the prospect you are in front of likes the offer, but their still saying no because it’s too expense to justify the cost in their mind.

This means you haven’t built enough value in their mind to justify the price you are asking for. It doesn’t mean your deal is toast. They’re willing to negotiate. That means they’re still interested in the deal. In this case, you can take 2 paths to change your “no” to a “yes”.

One – You can try exploring different options and finding a solution that works better for them at a lower price point, sort of like I mentioned a minute ago.

The other option is to build more value in their mind. Show them the benefits in greater detail, and relate those benefits directly to their situation.

Years ago, I built so much value in a product demonstration I was doing that when I handed the prospect the price which was $1,650 her mind saw $16,500 and she was still ready to buy it. Luckily for her, I only let her pay me the $1,650.

Looking for a Good Start in Business?

Well, that’s our show for today folks. Go forth and be fearless out there and the next time you hear the word “no” in a negotiation, don’t give up. Take it as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and find a new solution. Remember, “no” doesn’t always mean the end. It can be the beginning of something great.

One of the most significant benefits of a can-do attitude is that it inspires creativity and innovation. When we believe we can overcome obstacles, we are more likely to think outside the box and come up with unique solutions to problems. This mindset also encourages us to take calculated risks, which can lead to significant rewards.

Watch Episode 23 Now!

Another critical aspect of a can-do attitude is that it fosters resilience.

Business can be tough, and setbacks are inevitable. However, with a can-do attitude, we can bounce back from failures and setbacks and continue to move forward. It is this resilience that separates successful entrepreneurs from those who give up when faced with challenges.

Finally, a can-do attitude is contagious.

When we approach our work with a positive mindset, it inspires those around us to do the same. This positive energy creates a culture of creativity, innovation, and resilience that can take a business to new heights.

The Power of Visualization Mindset

The Miller Mindset: Episode # 0022

Welcome to “The Miller Mindset” podcast, a weekly podcast where we explore the power of positive thinking and its impact on our lives. Join me, Chris Miller, as we dive into such topics as goal- setting, overcoming obstacles, and developing a growth mindset. If you’re looking to improve your life and reach your full potential, then this podcast is for you. Don’t miss an episode. Be sure to subscribe today!

On last week’s show, I told you that this week I would give you a simple visualization technique that will help you focus your energy and reach your potential. Well, I’m going to one-up myself here, and give you 2, as we exploring the power of visualization and its impact on achieving success in your business, and in your life. These two techniques are powerful in of themselves, but if you decide to combine them together, you can really tap into a powerhouse of drive and determination that can take you far. So let’s get into it.

Watch Episode 22 Now!

Let’s start by defining our topic and what it can do for us in our lives. Visualization is the act of creating a mental image or picture of a desired outcome. It is a powerful tool that can help us achieve our goals by harnessing the power of the mind to guide us in the right direction. Visualization is used by many successful people, including some of the top performers in the business world, athletes, and performers as well. It allows us an opportunity to create a mental representation of our goals and helps us focus our energies and attentions on achieving them. When we take the time to visualize our goals, we are able to glimpse the future that could be before us, and see ourselves succeeding. This helps to build our confidence and motivation, as well as our drive and determination. More importantly however, it keeps us on our path so that we don’t deviate and lose our way.

One of the most effective ways to use visualization is to create a vision board. A vision board is a visual representation of our goals and dreams that we can use as a daily reminder of what we want to achieve. By looking at our goals in front of us every day, we are able to stay focused and motivated, and take the necessary steps to turn our dreams into reality.

Here are some steps to help you create a vision board of your own:

1. Define your goals:

Before you start creating your vision board, it’s important to define your goals. What do you want to achieve in your business or personal life? Be specific and write down your goals in a journal or on a piece of paper.

2. Collect images and words:

Once you have defined your goals, start collecting images and words that represent your goals and dreams. You can find images in magazines, on the internet, or take your own photos. Choose images that inspire and motivate you.

3. Choose a board:

You can create your vision board on a poster board, a cork board, or even a digital board. Choose a board that works best for you As an example I keep my vision board in front of me all day long because I created it as my desktop image on my computer.

4. Arrange your images and words:

Once you have collected your images and words, arrange them on your board in a way that makes sense to you. You can group them by category or arrange them in a way that tells a story.

5. Display your vision board:

Once you have created your vision board, display it in a place where you will see it every day. This can be in your office, bedroom, or any other place where you spend a lot of time, such as I do with my desktop image on my computer.

By following these simple steps, you can create a visual representation of your goals that will help you stay motivated and focused on achieving success in both your business and personal life.

Another way to use visualization is to practice it daily.

Take a few minutes each day to visualize yourself achieving your goals. Imagine yourself succeeding and feeling the emotions that come with it. This will help to create a positive mindset and keep you focused on your goals. To make the most of this technique, here are a few steps to guide an help you get started:

1. Be clear when you think of your goals:

Before you can start visualizing your success, you need to be clear about what you want to achieve. Write down your goals on 3×5 cards as an example, and be as specific as possible.

2. Create a mental picture:

Once you have identified your goals, create a mental picture of yourself achieving them. Imagine what it would look like, how you will feel, and what you will be doing. Your vision board can help with this in a big way if you have created one.

3. Exercise this Visualization as a daily ritual:

Set aside a few minutes each day to practice visualization. Take a good look at your vision board, close your eyes, and visualize yourself achieving your goals in as much detail as possible. Imagine every aspect of your success, from the sights and sounds, and even smells of the flowers in a garden if you have one in your vision. Capture all of the emotions you feel.

4. Use all your senses:

As you visualize, use all your senses to create a vivid mental image. Imagine the sounds, smells, and textures associated with your success. This will help make your visualization more realistic and engaging.

5. Stay positive:

As you visualize, focus on the positive emotions associated with your success. Imagine feeling happy, proud, and fulfilled. This will help you maintain a positive mindset and keep you motivated.

6. Do it for no less than 28 days in a row without fail.

This will help you make a habit to visualize your success every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Looking for a Good Start in Business?

Well, that’s our show for today folks. Always remember, Visualization is a powerful tool that can help you achieve success in your business and life. By creating a mental image of your goals and dreams, you are able to focus your energy and attention on achieving them. Whether you create a vision board or practice visualization daily, incorporating this technique into your life can have a profound impact on your success.

Mindset of Abundance: 4 Steps to a Perfect Life

The Miller Mindset: Episode # 0021

Welcome to “The Miller Mindset” podcast, a weekly podcast where we explore the power of positive thinking and its impact on our lives. Join me, Chris Miller, as we dive into such topics as goal- setting, overcoming obstacles, and developing a growth mindset. If you’re looking to improve your life and reach your full potential, then this podcast is for you. Don’t miss an episode. Be sure to subscribe today! On today’s show, we will be discussing how to cultivate a mindset of abundance. So let’s Get Into It!

Here are 5 action steps that can help you keep your head in the Last week, I told you I would give you 3 action steps to make sure you always get what you want, but I’m going to do you 1 better today. I’m going to give you 4. So turn up your volume, and tune in your earns, because here we go.

#1 – Focus on the Positive

It is often said that what you think, you become. This is also true when it comes to abundance. If you believe that you can achieve abundance, you will be more likely to find success in your life. Cultivating a mindset of abundance means shifting your focus from what you lack to what you have. By doing this, you can start to appreciate the abundance that surrounds you and attract more abundance into your life.

To cultivate a mindset of abundance, you should start by focusing on the positive. Instead of dwelling on your shortcomings or what you don’t have, take time each day to reflect on the things that you do have. This could be something as simple as being grateful for your health, your family, or your job. The more you focus on the positive aspects of your life, the more content and satisfied you will feel.

#2 – Set Clear Goals

Another important step in cultivating a mindset of abundance is to set clear goals for yourself. This will help you to stay focused on what you want to achieve. It is important to set goals that are realistic and achievable, but also challenging enough to keep you motivated. For example, if your goal is to start your own business, break it down into smaller achievable steps such as researching the market, developing a business plan, finding funding, and so on. Doing this will help you focus your energies on the task instead of getting overwhelmed by the larger series of tasks that lay before you.

#3 – Take Action

In addition to setting goals, it is also important to take action towards achieving them. This means being proactive and taking steps to make your goals a reality. For example, attending networking events, learning new skills or seeking mentorship to improve your chances of success are great steps toward achieving your goals, but they don’t move the needle. Going out there and offering your product or service to a potential customer does. Get on the phones. Take a trip to a prospect’s office. Introduce yourself to someone and then tell them how your product or service can help them fill a need they have and ask them for the order. These are action items that will move that needle, and you need to do them every day. By taking action, you are not only moving closer to your goals, but you are also building confidence in yourself and your abilities which will lead you to that abundant life.

#4 – Surround Yourself with Positive People.

Finally, it is important to surround yourself with positive people who support and encourage you. Having a strong support system can make all the difference when it comes to achieving your goals. When you surround yourself with people who believe in you and your ability to achieve abundance, you will be more likely to succeed. One of the things I did to accomplish this in my own life was to get setup with a network marketing group that not only meets with one another regularly, but who also shares a lot of the same business tools, experience, and goals. This is especially cool for me because I get to see how each of them experience these similar things in their business from their own completely unique perspective. This helps me as well because I learn from what their thoughts, experiences, and goals are and form ideas and even new product lines every now and then just be listening for common issues they are facing, experiences that they to be sharing, or by the occasional wow moment of insight that comes to me based on a comment that is shared with the group.

Success is No Accident

Whatever you want in life, you can get it with the right mindset, training, and direction.

The Miller Mindset: Triumph Over Your Limiting Beliefs

The Miller Mindset: Episode # 0020

Welcome to “The Miller Mindset” podcast, a weekly podcast where we explore the power of positive thinking and its impact on our lives. Join me, Chris Miller, as we dive into such topics as goal- setting, overcoming obstacles, and developing a growth mindset. If you’re looking to improve your life and reach your full potential, then this podcast is for you. Don’t miss an episode. Be sure to subscribe today! On today’s show, we will be exploring the topic of limiting beliefs and how they can hold back business growth.

Limiting beliefs are thoughts or attitudes that we hold about ourselves that limit our potential. They can be deeply ingrained and difficult to overcome, but they are not impossible to overcome.

Here are 5 action steps that can help you keep your head in the game and overcome limiting beliefs:

#1 – Identify your limiting beliefs.

One way to start overcoming limiting beliefs is to identify them. Take a moment to reflect on what beliefs you hold about yourself and your business that may be holding you back. Are they based on past experiences or fears? Take another moment to reflect on what beliefs you hold about your business that may be holding the business’ growth back as well. Try to really identify them, and their root cause. Are they based on past experiences or fears?

#2 – Challenge your limiting beliefs.

Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, it’s important to challenge them. Ask yourself if they are really true or if they are just assumptions. For example, if you believe that you’re not good enough to succeed, challenge that belief by looking at your accomplishments and recognizing your strengths. Use the success train model and build on those little successes to strengthen them and help you challenge negative beliefs that are standing in your way.

#3 – Seek support.

Another way to overcome limiting beliefs is to seek support. This can be in the form of a mentor, coach, an supportive community, or even all of the above combined together. Having someone to talk to and bounce ideas off of can help you gain a new perspective and move past your limiting beliefs. This can make all the difference when things have been going in the wrong direction.

#4 – Take action.

it’s important to take action. Overcoming limiting beliefs requires action and a willingness to step outside of your comfort zone. Set goals for yourself and take small steps towards achieving them, as with the success train exercise. Celebrate your successes and learn from your failures. I know what you are thinking though. Taking action is the hard part. It can be scary for some. That’s why we call it a comfort zone after all. . . because we feel safe there. But staying there isn’t keeping you safe. It’s keeping you compliant. Its keeping you shackled. Success doesn’t live in the comfortable places. It lives in the wild. It lives in the freedom of rolling the dice one more time when you are down to your last dollar. Success lives on the edge, and unless you are out there on the edge with it, you won’t get it. Take the action.

#5 – Stay positive.

When all else fails, stay positive. Self-pity is just not an attractive quality after all. Not only that, but when you are down, you are also less productive. Productivity produces results and positive people put out more production. Its a documented fact. Remember that limiting beliefs can hold back your business from achieving its growth, but they are not insurmountable issues. Keep a positive mindset and focus on your strengths and accomplishments. With these action steps, you can overcome your limiting beliefs and keep your head in the game to achieve your full potential.

Success is No Accident
